Does the style of the frosted glass door vary?
Yes, compared to an ordinary glass door. Sanded glass doors can have a wider range of selectable surface textures, such as long-tube glass, oil-sand glass, water ripple embossing, and so on. To enhance the color and features, a 3D painted matte finish can also be used. The textures it can create have far more variations than those of ordinary glass. Different textures can match different aesthetic styles, such as modern, retro, Japanese, and so on. Can adapt to various commercial projects and have a wider audience base.
What different frosted processes are available to choose from?
The most common process for processing frosted glass is mechanical sandblasting. It is to create a frosted pattern on the glass surface by using high pressure and solid particles. So it doesn’t feel smooth, which is a great test of sandblasting technology. Poor technical skills can easily leave fine lines and the risk of cracking.
It can also be achieved through chemical etching, where glass is corroded with strong acid. It has a better hand feel and a more uniform matte texture. Better security.

Will frosted glass lose its frosted effect over time?
Frosted glass is made by directly altering its surface shape. After production, it is impossible to have problems such as peeling, bubbling, or fading. The frosted effect will be maintained permanently. The lifespan of frosted stickers is relatively short, and they may wear out if not cleaned properly.
Is a frosted glass door safer?
Frosted glass is safer than ordinary annealed glass. Frosted glass can be treated by sandblasting or etching, causing subtle changes in its internal chemical structure. If it breaks, it appears as fine particles after breaking. The edges are rather blunt. Moreover, frosted glass can also be custom-made from tempered glass. This further enhances security.
Can frosted glass doors insulate sound?
The sound insulation effect has little to do with whether the glass door is a frosted type or a transparent type. If you want glass doors with good sound insulation, you can consider the following aspects:
Increase the thickness of the glass
Laminated glass door, with a layer or multiple layers of chemical adhesive material sandwiched between the glass. Not only is the sound insulation better, but also the fragments won’t fly around when it breaks, making it safer.
Insulated glass. Hollow tempered glass can be selected to further enhance its noise reduction effect.
The main function of frosted glass is to provide privacy. If your project wants to both prevent eavesdropping and reduce noise, you can apply the frosted surface treatment to the above-mentioned types of glass.

Usually, only some simple adjustments to the door frame or adding standard sealing strips at the gaps are needed, without introducing any completely new and complex procedures.
Does a frosted glass door require special maintenance?
If you don’t use abrasive steel brushes or strong acid cleaners, there will be no problem. No special maintenance is required from you. You just need to assign a dedicated person to wipe it clean every day with a damp cloth and ordinary detergent.
Will a frosted glass door cost more than a regular glass door?
The surface of frosted glass doors requires special processing, and it is usually more expensive than ordinary glass. Additional processing fees for the glass are required. For large-scale commercial customization, the processing fee is generally waived.
Can frosted glass protect against ultraviolet rays?
No. If the side close to the glass door is exposed to sufficient light, over time, the indoor furniture will still suffer from aging due to ultraviolet rays. If your business project places a strong emphasis on sun protection, you can incorporate UV-blocking agents and other UV-blocking chemical components during the production of frosted glass.
Will using strong light in a dark environment affect the frosted effect?
Yes. In a dark environment, if there is a strong light on one side of the frosted glass door, it will affect its anti-spy effect. The outside can see a blurry shadow. To prevent this from happening, acid-etched frosted glass can be chosen.
How should one decide whether to use single-sided frosted finish or double-sided frosted finish?
Single-sided frosted finish:
Better light transmission.
Privacy protection is slightly weaker.
The rough surface should not face outward. Otherwise, by pouring water from the outside or applying tape, one can clearly see the interior.
Suitable for office partition doors, entrance of meeting rooms, etc., where a sense of openness is required.
Double-sided frosted finish:
Both sides have been treated with sandblasting.
The light transmission is slightly lower, but the privacy protection is much stronger.
Suitable for areas such as bathroom doors in commercial hotels.
Can the frosted glass door allow one to see outside from the inside?
Ordinary ones won’t do. A single-phase transparent film can be coated on the frosted glass door facing the outside. This way, a single-sided transmission effect can be achieved, where the outside can be clearly seen from the inside. However, this situation is only applicable when it is brighter indoors than outdoors.
